Woodbury Residence Hall was erected in 1959. It was named for Mary Putnam Woodbury. Woodbury was born in 1846 and died in 1914; wife of James Neilson; active in New Brunswick affairs; credited with establishing the first free circulating library in New Jersey,1883; founder of New Brunswick charitable organizations; stared Kindergarten and manual training classes in the city.
