The Loree Building was erected in 1963. It was named for Leonor Fresnel Loree. Loree was born on April 23, 1858, at Fulton City, Ill.; died Sept. 6, 1940, at West Orange, N.J.; B.Sc.(Rutgers College, 1877), M.Sc. (Rutgers, 1880),C.E., LL.D. (Rutgers , 1896, 1917); D.Eng. (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1933); President, Delaware & Hudson Railroad; interests in Kansas City Southern, Baltimore and Ohio, New York Central, and the Rock Island Railroads; Trustee, Rutgers University, 1909-1940; Chairman of the Rutgers Board of Trustees Commitee on New Jersey College for Women until 1938; donor of New Jersey College for Women Athletic Field (Antilles Field) Source: Catalogue of Buildings and Place Names at Rutgers
